Lace Wig Cap Construction

Full Lace Wig, Lace Front Wig and Hair Replacements System Cap Design

We use only top quality 100% real Swiss or French lace in the construction of our full lace wig caps. Our caps are crafted to maximize breathable airspace so they are very light and comfortable to wear. The full lace cap provides proper ventilation while worn which is very important as this eliminates heat and moisture build-up. We offer the following full lace caps:

Cap Design

There are many ways to construct a lace wig. Your choice will really depend on your needs and preferences. More experienced users usually have a good idea of what they like and don't like and can get more specific about their choices. However, most can pick from our standard choices which we list as "most popular". For full details on our Gluess Cap Full Lace Wigs click here.

Full Lace with Stretch in Middle

This cap construction is the most popular choice because you can glue around the full perimeter and still have some stretch in the middle for a proper fit. Almost all of our clients choose stretch in the middle for this purpose. The stretch will not give you a different size (stretching from a small to a large size cap), but it will extend your usability if your measurements are not exact.

Lace Front with Adjustable Strap in Back

Not planning on gluing your unit down on the full perimeter? With this cap, glue is only applied at the front hairline. The strap in the back can be adjusted for fit. The front is made with Swiss or French lace and the back of the unit is made with Stretch Lace. The entire unit is hand-tied and does not have wefts in the back like beauty supply store wigs.

Full Lace with No Stretch

You can have your cap made with no stretch. Clients who choose this typically have their measurements down to a T. If you are covering your own hair, please remember that your cap size adjusts slightly due to hair growth and texture changes. In this case, having no stretch would not be a great option. The seams on cap designs with no stretch are sealed either with a polyurethane seal or hand sewn (as is pictured). If you are particular of one over the other, you should specify your choice in the comments field of the custom order form.

Full Stretch Cap

The idea here is that you can easily apply and remove your wig much like a traditional wig. No adhesives are used and you can adjust the straps in the back for security. You can add clip combs for extra security or simply pin your wig down with bobby pins as well. Unlike traditional wigs, however, units with this cap design are not bulky or heavy. The full cap is made with the comfortable thin stretch lace and all hairs are meticulously hand-tied as they are with all of our lace wigs. Because stretch lace is more durable than Swiss or French, what you get is a longer lasting and easy to use wig for everyday application and removal.

Full Lace with Stretch Ear Tabs

Stretch ear tabs provide extra comfort and utility with fit. This way, your measurements do not have to be perfect but you can still get an undetectable look by applying with adhesives on the front and back perimeter.

Stretch from Ear to Ear Over Top

One can maximize on stretch with this cap and still achieve an undetectable look. The stretch is hidden behind the ear. Clients who choose this want lots of stretch but still want to be able to apply with adhesives on the front and back hairlines.

This is our recommended cap constrution. Offers a great, comfortable fit and is our "Most Popular"

Silk Top Lace Wig

Forget trying to hide or camouflage the knots at the hairline! The knots are completely hidden so you can confidently wear your unit, even without a wig cap! The silk base basically does what the wig cap would- it creates the illusion of a scalp. The silk top base is placed on the top of the cap as shown above. For the best coverage, we recommend a full silk base unit.

Full Silk Base Lace Wig

Forget trying to hide or camouflage your knots! The knots are completely hidden so you can confidently wear your unit and wear without a wig cap! The silk base basically does what the wig cap would- it creates the illusion of a scalp. You can confidently part anywhere on the cap as the hair looks like it is literally growing out of your scalp. The full silk base is the best choice if you have your own hair to cover!

What is a lace Front wig?

A lace front is a wig that's hairline is constructed of lace material. This material is made out of French Lace or Swiss Lace and is virtually undetectable to the naked eye when placed against the skin. The hair is knotted into the lace and appears to grow from the scalp offering an natural appearance. Only a lace front wig can be trusted to maintain the illusion of growing hair and it's the preferred choice of celebrities, actors, and people in media.  For more information on what is a lace wig click here

French Lace

French lace is a strong material used at the front edge of a hairpiece in combination with bleached knots to give and extremely undetectable look. The knots are not hidden by lace, but using lighter knots creates the illusion of growing hair. French lace is less fragile than Swiss lace and with care could last a long time.

Swiss Lace

Swiss Lace is more fragile than French lace but strong enough if handled carefully. It is the most undetectable but also very delicate. Swiss lace needs to be handed with care and is not recommended for first time users to lace front wigs.

Ear To Ear Stretch

Ear to Ear Stretch is a French lace with an elastic material constructed within the unit for maximum durability and elasticity. This will allow a client to pull back the hair in a high ponytail while offering a adjustable "perfect" fit. *Recommended*

Thin Skin at the Nape

Thins Skin Nape is a very thin, clear coat of polyurethane over a clear silk base that allows for easy application and removal. This will allow a client a secure fit on the back of the head and scalp without the application of glue. It still appears extremely natural and is very flexible. Which Cap Style Do I Choose?

The most important questions is will you want to wear your wig in an updo or ponytail? If so you will want to choose a Full lace cap style. There are many different style caps - the most common are the full lace cap with ear to ear stretch, the full lace cap with no stretch, front lace only cap meaning lace in the front only, full lace cap with thin skin in front and lace around entire perimeter of head.

Full Thin Skin

This is not really a comfortable choice if you do not have hair loss. It can be very hot! People who choose this cap typically have allergies to the lace materials. You can choose thin skin 1) on the full perimeter 2) on the back perimeter only 3) on the front perimeter only or 4) a full thin skin cap.
